Features that already work, but that we are still testing with you before they become part of the app for everyone. They are off by default, and you turn them on only if you want to.
How to turn them on
- Open ⚙ Settings › 🧪 Beta.
- The first time, read the terms, tick I have read this and I accept it, then Accept. The terms always stay there, with the date you accepted them.
- Turn on the switch of the feature you want. It works at once, with no restart. The same switch turns it off, and whatever you made is kept for next time.
The terms, in plain words
- They are experimental: they may change, improve or, rarely, be removed.
- You use them at your own risk, and each one is turned on separately. Always keep copies of your photos, as you already do.
- If a feature causes a problem, our team may switch it off for everyone for a while. The Beta tab then says so, and the feature comes back by itself once it is fixed. Your choices are kept.
- Each feature has Tell us what you think: your feedback goes straight to our team and helps us finish them.
Files
A new first tab on the home screen, before Galleries: your photos and videos from the card to the album, in folders by drive, with Lightroom stars, flags and labels, capture time and order. In the same section are the Advanced file actions (move, rename, rotate, write the time, Recycle Bin), with their own switch: you can have the Files tab without them.
Slideshow
Videos to the beat of the music from your photos: from a folder, a gallery, a client’s favourites or an album’s spreads. It finds the beat of your music, keeps faces inside the frame, adds an opening title, an end card with your logo and the watermark from Settings, in 9:16, 16:9, 4:5 or 1:1. Everything happens on your computer. It is part of the Plus plan, at no extra cost.
