Chapter 2

Quick start

Your first album from start to finish. Each step has its own chapter later, with every detail.

In 3 steps: 1. Install the app and sign in with the email you signed up with (chapter 3). 2. Gallery: your client picks their favourites. 3. The favourites become an album, your client approves it on their phone and you export the files for your lab. Below, the same in 8 detailed steps.
1

Sign in and set up your studio

  • Open the app, click ⚙ Settings › Profile and sign in with Google or with email.
  • Write your studio name: your clients see it on every page.
  • In Labs add the lab you print with and its album sizes (once).
2

Create a gallery and share it

  • Galleries › + New gallery: name and date of the event.
  • Drag the event folder in. Subfolders (Getting ready, Ceremony…) become sections.
  • Click ↑ Upload, copy the link and send it to the couple (or let the app email them).
3

The client picks favourites

  • The couple taps ♥ on the photos they love, adds notes (“black and white”) and sends you the collection.
  • You see every collection live in the gallery, under Client collections, and get an email.
4

One click: a new album from the favourites

  • In the collection click → New album. The full-resolution files are copied into the album folder.
  • Choose the lab, the size and, if you like, a saved cover type. The album opens with the photos ready.
5

Build the spreads

  1. All photos into the timeline. Under the photo column (left) click All. They all go into the timeline (the strip below the spread), in capture order, in one long row. It shows red because it is not cut into spreads yet.
  2. Cut it into spreads, from left to right. Click the gap between two photos in the timeline: one spread ends there and the next one starts. The timeline doesn’t move, so you carry on with the next click further right. Usually 2 to 5 photos a spread. Cut in the wrong place? Click the gap between the two spreads to join them again, or Ctrl+Z.
  3. The layout is set for you. Each spread gets a layout for its photos at once. For another one, pick from the layout strip under the spread or press [ and ]. Drag a photo in the timeline to change the order or move it to another spread.
  • Want certain photos in one spread? Select them in the column and press Enter (or Selected): they become a new spread at the end.
  • Add the cover and the endpapers, text (e.g. names and date), backgrounds and photo edits as you like.
6

Send it to the client for review

  • Click Send for approval (or ☁ Proofing) and ↑ Upload. You get a link, with an optional PIN.
  • The client pages through the album like a real book and comments on a photo or a page.
7

Make the changes and upload again

  • The comments appear in the app, on the right spread. Reply, fix, mark ✓ Done.
  • Click ↑ Upload again: the client sees the new version at the same link.
8

Approval and order

  • When the client taps Approve for print, the album card turns green ✓ and you get an email.
  • ⤓ Export › For print: the files at your lab’s exact size, checked before they are written, and the order sheet with every option, ready to paste into the lab’s form.
