Press E, click ✎ Free design or double-click an empty spot. ✓ Done or Esc to leave.
- Tools: placeholder, left / right / whole, text, diagonal, slanted, the template’s photo frame.
- Rulers in the album’s units; the selection shows as an orange band, a snap as a pink line.
- Handles: resize (corners keep the shape, Shift frees it, Alt resizes from the centre), round handle to rotate.
- Guides and spacing: frames snap to edges, spine, safe zone and other frames. Pink lines show the distances; equal gaps show “=” in the same colour.
- Arrows move 1 mm (Shift 10 mm, Alt 0.1 mm). Shift+drag keeps a straight line. Alt after you start dragging turns snapping off.
- Select several: Ctrl/Shift+click, a selection rectangle (touching is enough) or Ctrl+A. Resize the orange box and everything inside scales together.
- Placeholder: an area that arranges by itself the photos you drop in, filling it exactly. Automatic or free.
- Front and back: Ctrl+] / Ctrl+[, with Shift to the very front or back.
To swap groups of photos you do not need Edit Mode: in the normal view drag one photo with Alt onto a wider one, and its whole row comes along.
