The photos column
- Add with Folder / Files or by dragging from Explorer (JPG, PNG, TIFF, WebP).
- Sort by name, capture time or order added; filter all / unused / in the album / stars / colour / picks.
- The number on a thumbnail = how many times the photo is used. Used photos look paler.
- Stars, colours and picks come from the files and straight from your Lightroom Classic catalogue (read only), even the picks Lightroom never writes to the files. Change them here with the Lightroom keys: 0–5, 6–9 colours, P pick, X reject, U none.
- Double-click a photo, or select some and press Enter, to put them on the album.
The timeline
- All puts the unused photos at the end of the timeline in one row; then you cut it into spreads.
- Click the gap between two photos: the spread is cut there. Click between two spreads: they are joined.
- Drag a photo to another place or spread. Drag a spread’s number to move the whole spread.
- Ctrl/Shift+click to select several, then drag them together. Near the edge the timeline scrolls by itself.
- Hover a spread to preview it in the middle; click to open it. The mouse wheel scrolls the timeline.
- A spread with more than 20 photos turns red: cut it.
On the spread
- Click a photo to select it; drag to move it inside its frame; the mouse wheel zooms towards the pointer.
- Drag a photo onto another: they swap. Hold Alt while dragging: they swap with their frames, the layout stays (a tall one on top and a wide one below become wide on top and tall below).
- Drag from the library onto a photo to replace it; onto an empty spot to add it.
- Space or double-click: large preview with brightness, contrast, saturation and black and white.
- Right-click a photo: cut / copy / paste, copy tones, make the frame tall or wide, mirror, background photo of the spread, Photoshop, replace, find a missing file.
Photoshop
Ctrl+E opens the original in Photoshop. Press Save there and the album updates itself in a second or two, even after a crop.
